Create a cute and funny little snowman decoration for your cupcakes. If you want to make a different decorative effect on a cupcake, see also melted snowmen cupcakes.

Ingredients

• Cupcake recipe
  
• Frosting - buttercream is good
  
• Candies
  
• Chocolate drops
  
• Small chocolate cookies
  
• Large square chocolates (coated caramels or creams are ideal)
  
• Coconut or icing for dusting
  

Steps

1. Make cupcakes. Chocolate is a good flavor but the choice is up to you.
   
2. Add the frosting to the top of the cupcake.
   
3. Add a chocolate scarf decoration. You can make this yourself by melting the chocolate and molding it into shape or you can ask a local chocolate maker to create some for you.
   
4. Add a small round chocolate cookie or a truffle to the center of the scarf. If using a cookie, stand it upright as shown in the image. If using a truffle, sit it on firmly in the middle.
   
5. Coat the cookie or truffle in more frosting. Create a nice round ball shape.
   
6. Add two chocolate drops for eyes. Add a piece of citrus peel or a small jelly candy for the nose.
   
7. Make a mouth using a line of small chocolate drops. Make a lovely big smile!
   
8. Add a small flat cookie to the top of the snowman's head.
   
9. Place a square chocolate on top of the small round cookie. Use melted chocolate or frosting to hold the large, square chocolate to the small cookie.
   
10. Sprinkle with a little icing sugar or coconut flakes. If you're feeling rich, sprinkle with a little gold dust.

Tips

• Tint the frosting if wished. You could also sprinkle coconut or red/green Jell-O crystals on the frosting that forms the body.
